Where Did “God Is Dead” Originate?

Where did the phrase “God is Dead” originate?

The phrase God is dead gained popularity in the writings of Frederich Wilhelm Nietzsche.
I’m paraphrasing here, but you can look in his book “The Gay Science” and his other writings for more from Nietzsche if you so desire. >/p>

A madman lit a lantern in the bright morning hours, ran to the market-place, crying: “I am looking for God! Where is God!”
Many of those standing in the marketplace who did not believe in God scoffed and laughed at him.
You have lost God? said one. Maybe he is hiding on you cried another. Maybe he doesn’t like you? (More Laughter)
As they laughed and poked fun, the madman jumped into the middle of the marketplace and proclaimed:

“Where has he gone?” he cried out. “I shall tell you. We have killed him - we all have killed him.

- - -

In a sense, we have murdered him. He no longer exists in the physical minds of many of us.
However, we are generated from spirit. We are half physical and half non-physical or spiritual energy. Many of us haven’t realized it yet - at this point in our time and culture. >/p>

Our spiritual side is our Higher self.

By accessing our Higher Self, we have access to God, Source Energy, Angels, Guardian Angels, Holy Spirit, and our Spirit Guides.

They can lead us down the pathway to freedom and adventure if we so choose… if we chose to make the connection, reinforce the connection, clean the connection, solidify our connection. This will enable us to follow our bliss, and enjoy the life we were meant to lead.

We can all access Higher Self. Read Wayne W. Dyer’s “Power of Intention” and then “Excuses Begone” and you will find yourself wellon your way to manifesting the happiness and Joy that this physical experience is supposed to be about.
